Cloud 9

My results came back and my bet number almost tripled!!!!  I’m over 1400, which my nurse said is fantastic!!!!

I’m scheduled for my first peek at the Nugget next Monday.  Instead of being completely nervous and anxious for my appointments, now I’m just really excited.  There is a level of nervousness that is still bubbling under all the happiness, and I imagine it will make a big come back when we go to hear the heartbeat (10-12 weeks), but I’m being positive.  It worked before, it’ll work again!

Now, I’m on the hunt for fun ways to “announce” it to all of the parents.  We will be in Houston to visit my parents for Easter weekend and I was thinking to do something Easter themed.  Like a giant plastic Easter egg with something inside that says “We are egg-cited to be egg-specting!” or “Lindsey will be “hatching” in November” or even something with little yellow chicks and “Baby Allen chick will arrive in November”.

Any of those good? All of them dorky? Yes, but I love dorky.

big bunnies….

awwwww

I need to hit up Hobby Lobby or Garden Ridge to see what I can come up with as my creative genes are not in the surplus, never have been.

Any ideas?  Throw ’em at me!  I’ve waited a loooooong time to be able to tell people that we’re expecting and I’m excited to have fun with it.

Holiday Madness

Today is the opening day of the Nutcracker Market here in Houston (http://www.nutcrackermarket.com/). It is a huge event held at Reliant center and it truely “kicks off” the holiday season. All proceeds go to the Houston Ballet which I think is very cool. Vendors from all over the states come to this event, it’s supposed to be amazballs, or so I’ve heard. This will be my first year in attendance. I’m trying to decide if I want to go tonight or sometime this weekend. Also trying to decide if I want to bring the ‘ol ball and chain. Josh can be a lot of fun to shop with (as in, wants to buy everything) or a total drag. I’m not sure he would like arts and crafts but I’ve learned that there is gourmet food, drinks and custom furniture and all kinds of goodies – is this enough to entertain the husband? I haven’t made my mind up yet…

Additionally we were supposed to have friends from Dallas coming into town on Friday (I was going to get to meet my bestie’s new beau) but they cancelled becuase of work schedules, so that leaves all weekend to hit up the market…

My week has actually been quite busy this week so as of today, Thursday, I haven’t even cooked/baked anything new and I haven’t started on my turkey onsie either…time to get cracking tonight! Hobby Lobby here I come!

Hobbies Needed

Last night I went with my brother to purchase his new truck. He was very excited and needed someone “level headed” to go with him. I agreed and right after work he swung by to pick me up. Now if you’ve bought a vehicle before, your aware that it’s not exactly a quick process. Well my bro had already done his home work and therefore wanted a test drive and to discuss the price. Pretty quickly he made up his mind. I left and was home around 8ish.

Then proceeded eat some dinner (Amy’s Vegan Chili w/brown rice and cheddar cheese – super easy and yummy) and sit on the couch until bed time. My new found hobby of reading blogs/Pintrest which includes crafting, cooking and lots of DIY bloggers has made me realize I spend too much time “relaxing” on the couch. There is so much more I could be doing.

1. I know I should be hitting the gym more often
2. I received a sewing machine as a Christmas gift, like 3 years ago and the most I’ve done is stitch up a few clothes here and there and lastly,
3. I really want to be more crafty
4. The dreaded MBA that I still haven’t even started on yet…

So I’m starting my new years resolutions early (just a bit) and I’m resolving to do more in the evenings. Occasionally on a tough work day, a glass of wine and a movie is appropriate but not every day. I’ve gotten into this lazy habit and I’m done with it.

So my first idea is at least once a week, cook/bake something completely new and or craft project. I have several ideas:

New Christmas Wreath

Little turkey onsie for my nephew

I did branch out on Sunday and make Pumpkin Cream Cheese Muffins that I found on a blog that I cannot locate 😦 They came out really great and I’ll try and share the recipe later…so I’m making baby steps. Now T-day is right around the corner so I’ll have to get cracking on the onsie quickly.

I’m new to the blogging world so I’m not sure how to link things exactly but I’ll figure it out slowly. At this point I don’t have any followers so I’m not worried 😉 If you’re interesting, they will come.

Until next time.
