First, there was absolutely nothing wrong with my life at that point. It just wasn’t where I thought I’d be by that birthday.

Things rarely work out exactly as you plan/ hope.

Boy am I glad for that.

My birthday is tomorrow. I’m turning 28. Again. 

This year we didn’t go to Mexico or another semi elaborate vacation. I am no where close to ready to leave my boys for more than the 8 hours I’m required to leave them to go to work each day. 

We aren’t meeting up with 854168 friends for dinner, drinks and a crazy night on the town.

All the “normal” birthday festivities are just not happening. That’s not my norm anymore.  Not to say that we won’t ever celebrate with nights out on the town but it definitely won’t occur anytime in the near future.

Although things weren’t where I planned them to be on my other 28th birthday a few years ago, it’s funny how my life has turned out to be exactly what I dreamt it to be.
