This weekend we took a trip to Broken Bow, Oklahoma with a group of five couples for a little getaway. Our cabin, the Chimney Rock cabin, which was rented through Broken Bow Adventures, was gorgeous! I would highly recommend this lodge if you are taking a visit to this area of Oklahoma.
The cabin was huge with 4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, full kitchen, dining, living, laundry room, wrap around porch, hot tub and campfire ring. Lots of trees and privacy and it had all the amenities needed, we just brought our clothes and food. Wonderful place to stay and was even pet friendly!
I’ve only actually been to OK three times, twice was to Broken Bow and once was just a drive through on the way to Arkansas. I would say this part of OK is most like AR, in the sense of hills and trees and some beautiful nature areas. We went to Beavers Bend State park to do some hiking on the Skyline trail on Saturday. This trail is TOUGH. Lots of elevation changes, switchbacks, steep inclines but also some beautiful scenery. We had red, yellow and orange leaves raining down on us like it was a scene from a movie. Too bad we weren’t actually prepared for the hike. We didn’t bring enough water, snacks, appropriate shoes and we had a 7 year old with us. By the end we felt like our butts had been kicked by the Skyline Trail. Even though it beat us this time, I want to go back and try again…and be more prepared next time.
Either way, this area is super pretty and should definitely be visited if you are looking for a vacation spot in and/or around Oklahoma.
Side note: I’m schedule to take a pregnancy test tomorrow, but just like last month, I don’t feel pregnant. Which means as soon as my period starts I’ll be scheduling a pre-op appointment. Look like it will be a go for surgery.
That cabin sounds fabulous!
